Fence Installation Timeline: What to Expect

Antelis Fence & Hardscapes

If you've never had a fence installed before, it helps to know what the process actually looks like. Here's a general timeline for a typical project in the Charlotte and Lake Norman area.

1. Free On-Site Estimate

We walk the property, discuss materials and layout, and measure your fence line. You'll get pricing based on your actual yard, not a rough phone estimate.

2. Scheduling and Utility Locates

Once you approve the quote, we schedule the job and call in utility locates so we know exactly where underground lines run before digging any post holes.

3. Installation

Most residential fence installations take one to three days depending on length, material, and terrain. Post holes are dug and set first, followed by rails and panels or pickets.

4. Final Walkthrough

We walk the finished fence with you, check gates and hardware, and clean up the site before we consider the job done.

What Can Affect the Timeline

Weather, permit requirements in some municipalities, rocky or uneven terrain, and material availability can all shift the schedule. We'll flag any of these upfront during the estimate.
